Overview
Pollen from Hazel Tree (Corylus avellana, Betulaceae).
Hazel pollen is a common cause of hayfever (allergic reactions to pollen) and, with alder, is the only type to cause reactions in European winter.
Technical description of Corylus avellana pollen, from from PalDat (Halbritter & Diethart, 2005): : medium-sized isopolar monads, spheroidal or oblate, circular or triangular in polar view, triporate with annuli, with a psilate or granulate exine.
