Overview
Pollen from ivy (Hedera helix, Araliaceae).
Ivy pollen is spread by insects, and because of this is released in low quanitities. This makes the past dynamics of ivy plants difficult to interpret, as little ivy pollen gets preserved in bogs and lakes.
Technical description of Hedera helix pollen, from PalDat (Halbritter, 2016): medium-sized isopolar monads, shperoidal or prolate, circular or triangular in polar view, tricolporate, with a reticulate exine.
This model is part of the 3D Pollen Project.
